Who says you have to buy an expensive record player from Urban Outfitters when you can find one in the Oakland Swap Meet!
Last week I went to the Oakland swap meet, I told myself I had to go and check it out a couple times throughout this summer. See, I pass the swap meet all the time. My bf works near that area and I always wonder what they sell. To my surprise they sell everything and when I say (write) everything, I mean everything. If you want to go food shopping you can, they have fruit stands and food stands to satisfy any individual. If you want to buy a car stereo or a new cell phone, it's there. When I saw the $1 churro sign that was the turning point for me. I knew from that moment on this was going to be a great little adventure. Each vendor sold so many devices, gadgets, toys, you name it and it is there. It was amusing passing through each stand but the blistering hot weather didn't help much, regardless it was a fun day.
My mission was just to look and not necessarily shop but I couldn't help myself. It started with two turquoise rings both under $4. The next buy was an old vinyl of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, which was quite exciting (trying to build a record collection). The record has one of my favorite songs "I love Rock n Roll". The next and final buy (as you can see) is the oldie but goodie record player. Now, my bf bought me a record player for Christmas and I was so excited to play some of the records I had already bought. But being me I broke it and didn't get it fix. So when I saw this one I thought I would give it try and bargain the price down. It started at $35 and I brought it down to $25. Not bad for a record like this, the sound is amazing!! It so loud, louder than my other one. I still have my first record player and I won't stop until I fix it but this one is pretty cool too!
